Bryngarw Country Park Rules

Your Safety

  • As an outdoor environment, please be aware of natural hazards and seasonal changes, and wear appropriate footwear like non-slip, waterproof boots to reduce falls.
  • We advise you check weather forecasts before you visit, particularly for severe weather like high winds, heavy rain, lightning or extreme temperatures. Please look at social media for updated facility closure notices.

Transport

  • Unauthorised vehicles, including e-bikes, e-scooters, scramblers and off-road bikes are not permitted.
  • We encourage you to use the National Cycle Network Route 884 but please dismount on paths for pedestrians.
  • Please use the designated car parking bays; do not park over crossings, pavements, verges or double yellow lines.

Dogs and Ducks

  • Dogs are very welcome but please be a responsible owner and keep them on a lead in busy areas, be mindful of other visitors and always pick up after them.
  • For the safety of your dog and our wildlife, please don’t let your dog swim in the duck pond or pond in the Japanese Garden.
  • Ducks prefer birdseed, cooked rice, sweetcorn, peas, lettuce, oats or seedless grapes instead of bread, which can make them ill and does not provide the nutrition they need.

Our Environment

  • Disposable or portable barbecues should only be used on the designated concrete plinths in the BBQ field. Dispose of your waste properly. Open fires are not allowed anywhere within the park.
  • Bins are located in busy areas of the park for visitors to use, but if they are full, please take your litter home instead.
  • If you see piles of sticks, branches or logs, these are habitat piles for wildlife to shelter and should not be removed.

Filming and Other Commercial Activities

  • Anyone undertaking commercial activity in Bryngarw must ask permission beforehand. We may require a copy of your insurance and risk assessment.
  • Commercial filming activity of any kind, including the use of drones for personal or professional use, must be agreed in advance.
  • Camping and unauthorised overnight stays in the car park are not allowed. Please check car park opening times.
