Within the grounds of Bryngarw Country Park is B-Leaf, a work-based initiative for adults with learning disabilities.
It operates as a nursery and garden centre, and provides an extensive training programme in horticulture and grounds maintenance.
Trainees are supported by a team of dedicated staff who help them progress in whatever way they can to develop new skills, make new friends, and ultimately lead more independent and fulfilled lives.
B-Leaf is open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday throughout the year, selling plants, shrubs, gifts, gardening equipment and so much more.
Summer bedding plants and hanging baskets are on sale every May, with a huge selection to choose from. Trainees are involved in the entire process, cultivating the plants from seedlings, helping to assemble the hanging baskets and most importantly helping and interacting with customers who come to shop with us.
B-Leaf also stock and sell award-winning Gower Fresh Christmas trees which go on sale every November, the trainees enjoy being hands-on during the festive season, helping customers pick out their perfect tree.
All profits that B-Leaf make are reinvested back into the project to support the trainees.
